Electronic Arts Inc.'s Update On Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. Acquisition Offer.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 18, 2008--Electronic Arts Inc. ("EA") (NASDAQ:ERTS) today issued an update on its offer to acquire Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. ("Take-Two") (NASDAQ:TTWO).

On Friday August 15, John Riccitiello, Chief Executive Officer of EA, called Strauss Zelnick, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Take-Two, to discuss EA's offer to acquire Take-Two. Following discussions over the weekend between EA and Take-Two, EA accepted Take-Two's offer to provide a management presentation to EA containing non-public information. The letters between the parties are set forth below.

EA also announced that it will allow its tender offer for all of the currently outstanding shares of common stock (including the associated preferred stock purchase rights) of Take-Two to expire on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 11:59 p.m., New York City time.

As previously reported, the Federal Trade Commission is scheduled to complete its antitrust review of the proposed transaction by August 21. EA remains confident that antitrust issues will not prevent or delay a transaction.

Below is the text of the letter sent today by Mr. Riccitiello to Mr. Zelnick:

August 18, 2008

Mr. Strauss Zelnick
Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors
Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.
622 Broadway
New York, NY 10012

Dear Strauss:

Thank you for taking my call on Friday and for your response letter on August 17, 2008.

As discussed on Friday, given the passage of time, we have to validate the assumptions used in the model to support our offer price of $25.74 per share in cash. In addition, we no longer believe we can integrate Take-Two ahead of the important holiday season. Accordingly, we require due diligence to support a transaction and are therefore letting the tender offer expire tonight. However, we are pleased to accept your offer to review your management presentation as outlined in your letter.

We continue to have great respect for Take-Two's creative teams and products and are hopeful that we can work together to reach a mutually agreed transaction.

Sincerely,

/s/ John Riccitiello
John Riccitiello
Chief Executive Officer

Below is the text of the letter sent yesterday by Mr. Zelnick to Mr. Riccitiello:

Mr. John S. Riccitiello

Redwood City, CA 94065

Dear John:

Thank you for your recent expression of interest for Electronic Arts Inc. ("EA") to participate in Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.'s (the "Company") formal process to evaluate the Company's strategic alternatives. As you know, we have been willing to have EA participate in this process following the successful launch of GTA IV, and we are happy to include EA now.

As I mentioned when we spoke on Friday, our process begins with an in-depth management presentation. The Company has made significant strides since EA first expressed interest in the Company and this presentation includes material non-public information to which you would not otherwise have access, including information relating to our three year product release schedule and management's financial projections. The presentation also includes information about the underlying factors that have driven our strong operational and financial performance. I believe our presentation will enable you to understand better the value of our Company to EA.

Prior to the management presentation, we will only require EA to enter into a confidentiality agreement. The agreement would be limited to provisions required to comply with federal securities laws and to ensure the Company's ability to protect the confidentiality of the information shared with you. I can assure you that this requirement is the same as or more favorable to EA than that which we have employed with all other participants in the process.

We understand that a number of months have passed since you first expressed interest in the Company and, accordingly, we will act quickly to assist you in moving through our process. Once we execute a confidentiality agreement, we are prepared to schedule the management presentation immediately.

With my best personal regards.

Sincerely,
/s/ Strauss Zelnick

First Theft Via Grand Theft Auto, A Spyware Scam

According to an article I read today on Register, some thieves inspired by the GTA IV theme are following the suite. They are sending junk mail offering to give a chance to win a Playstation with the latest GTA game, in a kind of lottery.

But poor souls who opened the email were in for a surprise as it is a carrier of spyware designed to steal personal information from compromised PCs.

"Gamers desperate to get their mitts on Grand Theft Auto IV are being targeted in an opportunistic spyware scam. Spam emails offer prospective marks free entry to a draw offering a PlayStation 3 loaded with the much-anticipated game as a prize.
In reality, these illicit emails are loaded with spyware designed to swipe personal financial information from compromised PCs.
Grand Theft Auto IV for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 was released today to delirium from avid gamers. But some wouldbe buyers have been left disappointed as game stores have been unable to fulfill demand to the extent that even a minority of fans who pre-ordered the game have been left empty-handed.
Consumer-focused spam filtering firm ClearMyMail claims that more than half of the junk mail being blocked by its service on Tuesday is Grand Theft Auto IV-related. The vast majority of the junk mail messages offer the opportunity to win a PS3 complete with the game."

New Ubisoft Campus in Casablanca, Morocco.

Paris, FRANCE - April 21, 2008 – Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest videogame publishers, announces the establishment of a new Ubisoft Campus in Casablanca, Morocco, in partnership with Sigma Technologies, a leading Moroccan audiovisual company. From programming to 3D animation and modelling, game and level design to project management, the Campus will offer all the necessary training for the principal professions in videogame and animated film production when it opens its doors in October.

Present in Casablanca since 1998, Ubisoft announced plans to increase the production capacity of its Moroccan studio last year with the creation of 150 new positions by 2010. This expansion is made possible by a national government program in support of skilled jobs

The Ubisoft Campus places Casablanca at the heart of videogame and animated film training, promoting Morocco’s academic assets while creating partnerships with institutions in France and Canada. Modelled after the successful Ubisoft Campus in Montreal, Ubisoft has entrusted the new Moroccan Campus to the Cégep de Matane, in association with long-standing educational partner the École nationale du jeu et des médias interactifs numériques (ENJMIN- National School of Game and Interactive Digital Media) in Angoulême, France. The Casablanca Polytechnic Institute and Laval University in Quebec City, Canada are also associated with the initiative. The variety of training offered by its educational partners and the unique mix of technical and university instruction enable the Ubisoft Campus to offer a range of programs specifically designed for the videogame and animated film industry. The Cégep de Matane, responsible for managing the project, is open to additional educational partnerships that could reinforce the training offered by the Ubisoft Campus.

« The establishment of such a Campus represents an important, motivating project for Morocco, » stated Cyril Vermeil, managing director of Ubisoft Casablanca. « The Ubisoft Campus intends to attract, train and retain the best videogame and animated film creators throughout the country, for a high-growth industry where Moroccans have an important role to play. The Campus’s establishment concretely demonstrates Ubisoft’s commitment to training the talents of tomorrow, wherever they might be. »

Companions in Courage Foundation, Microsoft Joins To Bring Games and Entertainment to Children’s Hospitals.

REDMOND, Wash. — April 23, 2008 — Microsoft Corp. today announced a new partnership with the Companions in Courage Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families who are overcoming life-threatening obstacles. As part of its commitment to providing fun, interactive entertainment for children, Microsoft is supplying hundreds of Xbox 360 game kiosks to playrooms in children’s hospitals across the United States, intended to provide a respite for young patients and be a catalyst for fun. In addition to select games, movies and television content, the Xbox 360 kiosks will provide access to a private network that allows hospitalized children across the country to play games and chat in a safety-enhanced environment over Xbox LIVE, the world’s largest social network connected to television.

Microsoft is celebrating this partnership and the installation of the first wave of kiosks with three simultaneous events today at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian, Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center of Seattle and the Children’s Hospital of Orange County in California. Robbie Bach, president of the Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft, will attend the Seattle event to commemorate the first group of Xbox 360 kiosks and the launch of the special Xbox LIVE network.

“Microsoft is committed to keeping kids entertained in a variety of ways within a safer gaming environment, so partnering with Companions in Courage to offer children in hospitals a way to connect through something as universal as games is a natural fit for the work we do,” Bach said. “The goal for this program is to give these kids a chance to have some fun and just be kids.”

Companions in Courage founder and National Hockey League Hall of Famer Pat LaFontaine said, “Entertainment, creativity and personal connections can be important factors in alleviating some of the isolation and discomfort these children experience each day. Xbox 360 offers young patients a fun escape through games, TV shows, movies and positive interactions with others over the Xbox LIVE network. These gaming stations are a perfect complement to the interactive playrooms.”

The customized and hospital-friendly Xbox 360 kiosks are pre-loaded with a variety of Y-rated TV programs, G-rated movies, games rated E and E10+, as well as Xbox 360 Headset and Xbox LIVE Vision Camera capabilities, which enable patients to communicate over a dedicated Xbox LIVE network. This network, created just for Xbox 360 kiosks and consoles in children’s hospitals, allows patients to play games over Xbox LIVE, but limits chat via voice, text and video to only those children playing from select hospitals across the country. The industry-leading parental controls on Xbox 360, known as Family Settings, will be used to help restrict access to content outside ratings parameters, as well as the times during which patients can use the kiosks or consoles.

“It’s extremely gratifying to witness the joy and excitement of these children and teens when they have a chance to break away from the normal hospital routine, and make new friends while playing video games,” said Cynthia Sparer, executive director of Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian. “We are grateful that our partnership with Companions in Courage helps us meet the needs of our patients and allows kids to be kids even when they’re sick.”

To help bring even more Xbox 360 kiosks to children’s hospitals across the country, individuals can visit the Companions in Courage Web site at http://cic16.org to make a donation.

“We’re excited to be MMO Guildsites’ solution of choice. They have an exceptional offering,” said George Karidis, Chief Strategy Officer for SoftLayer. “And we’re proud of our role in the online gaming industry. We are an established leader in the segment, with a strong and growing customer base. Clearly, our level of performance and connectivity, as well as our interconnected facilities from coast to coast, have made us an ideal resource for the industry.”

Founded in 2006, MMO Guildsites differentiates itself from competitors with premium site-building features, including:
an easy-to-use site design tool with an advanced AJAX interface
a visual theming tool with a library of 80 professionally designed themes
innovative add-ins that integrate game activity into the guild sites

The company has grown to host more than 700 sites for guilds based around the world, representing major game titles including World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy, and EverQuest. But as the company grew, MMO Guildsites struggled with finding a provider that offered the winning combination of network reliability, hardware and services to ensure positive experiences for itself– and its expanding customer base.

MMO Guildsites turned to SoftLayer for the level of performance and stability necessary to accommodate its growing technology needs. They chose SoftLayer’s quad processor multi-core platform and use secure, out-of-band management through VPN for full control of their environment, enabled by SoftLayer’s industry-leading network topology. Additionally, SoftLayer’s proprietary customer portal lets the company easily track its customers’ traffic and usage.

“SoftLayer’s commitment to innovation and service allows our customers to constantly evolve,” concluded Mr. Karidis. “We are pleased to be part of MMO Guildsites’ continuing success."

Def Leopard On Guitar Hero III

Shiny Shiny says that latest Def Leopard's latest single "Nine Lives" is to be debuted on Guitar Hero III. The single, 'Nine Lives' will be made available on April 24th on Xbox Live and May 8th on the PS3 store.
But I disagree with about the notion that Def Leopards marketing department is Internet experts, if they were, based on search terms, "Nine Lives" would have been named after exotic "cat" name.

The Bourne Conspiracy™ video game will ship in North America June 3, 2008 For XBOX 360 & PS3.

Los Angeles, CA - April 02, 2008 - Sierra Entertainment today announced that the Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy™ video game will ship in North America June 3, 2008 on Microsoft's Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. The game brings Jason Bourne's signature combat style to life by sharply blending a seamless mix of hand-to-hand fighting, gunplay and dramatic escapes. To round out the non-stop action to the title's hunter-prey gameplay, The Bourne Conspiracy will give gamers a re-imagination of the high speed pursuit through Paris in the Mini Cooper®.

Through close partnership with Ludlum Entertainment, and collaboration on story and character development with Bourne screenwriter Tony Gilroy, The Bourne Conspiracy is an intense interactive addition to the blockbuster films and best-selling novels. The game delivers an original story uncovering Jason Bourne's past and the conspiracy shrouding his origins, plunging players into the role of Bourne as both trained assassin and marked government agent. Core to the experience is Bourne's definition as a perfect weapon with heightened combat instinct, where players use Bourne's characteristic capabilities to recognize threats, perform devastating takedown moves and use his surrounding environment to overcome deadly situations.

"Wrought with action, combat, elaborate escape scenes and untold story, the Bourne series is making a natural progression into the interactive medium," said Al Simone, senior vice president, global marketing, Sierra Entertainment. "We're pleased to announce that this June gamers will have the chance to experience the dangerously exciting aura and frenetic pace inherent in the Bourne franchise."

Developed by High Moon Studios and based around a combat system co-designed by Jeff Imada, the renowned choreographer who defined Bourne-style combat in the films, The Bourne Conspiracy delivers gamers every signature Jason Bourne element, from hand-to-hand fighting to shooting to escape and evasion. Framing the experience is a relentless pace of action and an in-game camera system that captures the cinematography techniques that established the memorable visual style of the films.

Capturing the intense high-speed pursuit based on the memorable car chase from The Bourne Identity™, players will take the wheel in an upgraded version of Marie's red Mini Cooper trying to evade seemingly every police car in Paris. Arcade racing-style gameplay and destructive stunt set-ups combine with Bourne instinct-based game mechanics to create a previously unseen and unforgettable action driving experience.

"We're creating a video game that is distinctly Bourne, based on a deconstruction of the character from action hero to game hero, and one that we ultimately believe gamers will discover as a distinctively original licensed action game," said Emmanuel Valdez, chief creative officer, High Moon Studios and game director on The Bourne Conspiracy.

PS3, PSP, and EA's Burnout™ Paradise Star in Wyclef Jean's New Music Video "Fast Car"

FOSTER CITY, Calif., March 25, 2008 – Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) today announced that PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) systems along with the blockbuster hit game title, Burnout™ Paradise, from Criterion Games, an Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) studio, have been integrated into “Fast Car,” the new music video from Grammy-winning Sony BMG artist Wyclef Jean. In this unique integration, Jean and

the video’s other characters utilize the PlayStation platforms to drive the video’s storyline, as they interact in a surreal world brought to life with footage from Burnout Paradise. The video will be available for download on PLAYSTATION®Store beginning on March 27 for a limited time.

“As an artist, Wyclef Jean is a great match for the PlayStation brand, and SCEA is excited about working with him on this music video because it showcases our platforms in an organic way that’s relevant to our audience,” said Peter Dille, Senior Vice President, Marketing and PLAYSTATION®Network, SCEA. “We’re also looking forward to giving our PLAYSTATION Network members the opportunity to download the video in high-definition, which expands the entertainment content offering on PLAYSTATION Store.”

“EA has always been a pioneer in integrating our videogames into other forms of media,” stated Steve Schnur, worldwide executive of music for Electronic Arts. “Sony BMG has been a terrific partner in that process, and Wyclef Jean has always been an artist who is truly excited about videogames. The result is a very cool, creative collaboration that has produced a groundbreaking music video.”

“To see Clef's idea come to life in this innovative marriage of technology and music is a real treat,” said Mark DiDia of Columbia Records.

“Fast Car,” which features Paul Simon as a guest vocalist, is the second single from Jean’s latest hit album, “Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant.” The “Fast Car” video picks up where Jean left off in the video for the chart-topping “Sweetest Girl.” The story starts with the multi-platinum artist receiving a message on his PSP system, pointing him to his next mission. From there, Jean accesses his PS3 system to enter the open world racing of Burnout Paradise, which serves as the video’s visual backdrop. Burnout Paradise is built to provide the ultimate in freedom and discovery online and offline, where players are able to create their own personal driving experience. PLAYSTATION®Eye also makes a cameo appearance in the video.

“When you’re on tour, you have plenty of time, and every artist I know spends time on a tour bus with two things: PlayStation® and the recording studio,” Jean said. “The PlayStation brand and Burnout Paradise fit perfectly with my vision for the ‘Fast Car’ music video. ‘Fast Car’ is like life – the pace of life is moving so fast, where you can burn yourselves out at times. The concept was about taking a song with such meaning and combining it with technology, but still keeping the essence of what we’re talking about and getting kids to listen to that message. A game like Burnout Paradise helps us get the attention of youngsters.”

Wyclef Jean directed and wrote the concept for the “Fast Car” video with collaboration from Leopoldo Gout of Curious Films.

For a limited time beginning on March 27, PS3 owners will be able to download the video in high-definition from PLAYSTATION Store, and PSP owners will be able to download the video via a PC from http://store.playstation.com. In addition to offering the “Fast Car” video, PLAYSTATION Store will also have special behind-the-scenes videos featuring an interview with Jean available for PS3 owners to download.

Burnout Paradise is now available worldwide and has been rated E10+ by the ESRB and 3+ by PEGI. For more information about Burnout Paradise, please visit http://burnout.ea.com or the EA press website at http://info.ea.com.
